With our mission of improving Scottish football for its supporters, our work spans a number of areas within the game. To add value to the football landscape, we operate a number of projects, each with their own aims and objectives.
The Scottish Supporters Network was specifically developed to capture the views of Scottish football fans and to help influence key decision makers through the formal governance structures of the game. As a member of the Scottish FA Congress, through the Network, Supporters Direct Scotland can harness supporters views to best represent the fans.
Club Development Consultancy is our one-stop resource for community sport groups (including Supporters Trusts and clubs) of any size and scale to help them best govern and develop their activities. Our website offers a range of best practice guidelines around the areas of finance, governance, legality, ownership and more. What’s more, we may be able to help you find funding, so to find out how you can grow a winning club, get in touch.
The SDS Index monitors the ownership of Scotland’s football clubs (in the SPFL, SWPL, Highland League and Lowland League) and provides an overview of this information to supporters. In addition it assesses each club’s approach to Engagement and Transparency.
In partnership with the Scottish FA, we supported the introduction of the Supporter Liaison Officer (often abbreviated to SLO) role in Scottish football. The SLO role requires clubs participating in UEFA competitions to appoint a full-time member of staff to work and engage with supporters, acting as a key point of contact. Our activities included the creation and distribution of a best practice handbook, a development day and communication channels for SLOs to network and share ideas among themselves.
We’ve worked in association with the Scottish FA and SPFL to deliver the Scottish Football Supporters Survey since 2012. Since starting the Survey, SD Scotland have worked in partnership with the game’s governing bodies to introduce a cycle of change for supporter on key issues from results of the survey.
The Scottish Groundhopping Guide is for supporters planning to visit any ground, or those just curious to know a bit more about a particular club. Much of the original information was contained within the Non League Scotland website created and maintained by Jamie Wire.
