PlayTalkRead at St Johnstone 20th Feb

PlayTalkRead, the Scottish Government’s early years campaign, will visit St Johnstone Football Club on Saturday ahead of their match against Motherwell.

Actor, and star of CBeebies’ ‘Woolly and Tig’, Colin McCredie will also join families on board the bus at McDiarmid Park in Perth to lead a story session ahead of kick-off.

The PlayTalkRead buses are free for families to visit. Experienced play workers on board lead activities demonstrating simple and low-cost ideas on how to incorporate playing, talking and reading with children into daily routines.

The main activities for families at the event are:

  • Football themed messy play, arts & crafts
  • Bookbug Specialist leading song & rhyme sessions
  • Colin McCredie, actor & star of Cbeebies’ ‘Wooly and Tig’ (and Taggart!) reading stories
  • Bookbug mascot will be joining St Johnstone mascot SuperSaint in a tour of the pitch before the match
  • Goody bags with PTR recipe cards, ‘30 things’, info leaflets, balls, buggy books, cubes and mats, Bookbug song & rhyme books, RWC books, info about local Bookbug sessions & libraries and YotD t-shirts.
