Broadening the Franchise
Club and Supporters’ Direct Scotland working on a solution

A meeting was held on Tuesday 1st April between the Club and Supporters Direct Scotland (SDS) to discuss supporter representation on the Board of the Club. The meeting was very positive with ideas being put forward which would open up the election of the Supporters Director and which could strengthen the supporters’ role within the Club.

Martin Ritchie, Chairman FFC, said “We are committed to having an independent supporters’ director on the Board – one that is chosen by as many of our supporters as possible and not just those who belong to a specific organisation. Today, we discussed proposals which could bring this about and could also strengthen the overall involvement of fans in the Club. The Club welcomes the opportunity to work with Supporters Direct Scotland to develop these ideas.”

Paul Goodwin, Head of SDS, said: “At Supporters Direct Scotland we have considerable experience in putting together solutions for supporters’ participation in the running of clubs. Falkirk FC has a strong active support and a Board committed to involving their support. We look forward to engaging with supporters groups and with the Board to come up with a solution that will serve everyone.”
