Internships with SD Scotland available

Want to work in football? Looking to gain some experience over the Summer and make invaluable contacts within the game?

We have several opportunities for individuals looking to improve their CV and gain experience within the football industry as ‘Network Development Officers’ for the Scottish Supporters Network, our vehicle for representing supporters within Scottish football.

Through our work (see what we do here), we have strong links to clubs and the games’ governing bodies and are looking to further our work for the benefit of supporters and clubs. We’re looking for individuals who are keen to volunteer time over the next 2 months to assist us in our development as an organisation at an important time.

Task and roles will include:

  • Growing the Scottish Supporters Network
  • Administration of SD Scotland’s online platforms
  • Developing resources for the benefit of clubs and supporters
  • Attending meetings with partners, clients and members
  • Analysis of data and presentation of results

In particular, we’re looking for individuals with the following skill-sets:

  • Online marketing
  • Social Media
  • Content development

Individuals should have a good knowledge and understanding of football within Scotland. They should be able to work from our office in Carronshore (Falkirk) at least one day a week between July and September and give at least 8 hours a week to the role. Please note this is a voluntary role.

SD Scotland are a supporters representative body and member of the Scottish FA’s Congress. We run a number of activities including working with clubs and their Supporter Liaison Officers to build bridges between clubs and fans, the Scottish Supporters Network (and the Scottish Football Supporters Survey) and Club Development Scotland (our consultancy arm to community sport clubs). We are funded by the Scottish Government and Scottish FA.

For more information, contact Andrew Jenkin () or see our Job Description. If interested in applying, please email Andrew by 16th of June with a covering letter outlining why you’d like to intern with SD Scotland.
